Weekly report for MonGirl Conquest v0.3


Hello! MonGirl Conquest’s v0.2.8 public wave is up for grabs! Don’t forget to check it out if you haven’t already.

Artists are finishing their tasks. So, we are aiming for 3 new girls in the upcoming v0.3 update. Namely, young polar fox, mommy earth elemental, and mommy polar woof. Planned new scenes aren’t set in stone except for fennec and her missionary H scene. We are aiming for 2 more, but the artists working on these prefer to finish the girl design first, and then pick an H scene. I’ll provide more info once they are ready.

I’m working on the new step in the main quest where you will do the first landing on the snowy island and have a bit of a problem with locals. This time, both Cat and Cleo will accompany you for the better security. How will it play out? You’ll see in the upcoming update.

The new main quest is around 30% completion. The narrative is finished. I’m working on new maps, tilesets and scripting it all into a draft version for playtesting. Since the action will involve both snowy zones and some of the old ones, maps are the main time-eater here. Anyway, we are aiming for the usual release window of February 14th-16th for the MonGirl Conquest v0.3.

The new exploration zone is almost done. You’ll unlock it after starting the new step of the main quest. I just need to tune the resources and assign stand-in girls. Just as we did before, some girls will have to step up to increase the pool of girl encounters for the new island. Then, once we get more new girls, these will be phased out in favor of newcomers. So, in short, the same thing we did with the second island. Most players are already familiar with this approach, but it won’t hurt to mention it for the newcomers.

Also, the snowy exploration zone will be a bit different from the previous ones graphics-wise. It’s more about quality of life changes, like swapping active blinking markers from yellow-white to red-ish colors. Otherwise, these are hard to see on the snowy landscape. Based on your feedback, I’m open to fine-tuning these elements later.

Added a pair of new weapons to the smithy in your camp for fighters and mages. It’s a part of an already existing smithy upgrade that you could buy a bit earlier, so you don’t need to visit the quartermaster. Though, these new weapons will require a new material from the snow exploration zone.

Fixed a bug that caused loading for graphical assets to hang and just keep the “loading” picture over everything else in the evening dates.

Fixed a few typos here and there based on player feedback.

Fixed a rare bug that caused a black screen after a scene to remain there indefinitely.

Also, don’t forget to participate in the active “next girl” poll for the upcoming winter zone. The winner will join the monster girl roster in future updates.
